Police said Krishank was arrested over a complaint of fake notice on closure of Osmania University hostels being circulated on social media.

BRS working president KT Rama Rao termed the arrest of Krishank Manne, the party’s social media convener, “illegal”. Police intercepted Manne’s vehicle at the Panthangi tollgate. They took him into custody for allegedly circulating a fake letter attributed to the chief warden of the Osmania University. Another claimed to be from Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy was also circulated.
