Senior Congress leader P Chidambaram on Sunday lashed out at the BJP-led NDA government and said the saffron party was no longer a political party but had become a cult that worshipped Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He added that there had been a “grave erosion” of freedom of speech and expression under the 10 years of Modi’s rule, and urged voters to “restore democracy”.
