The Karnataka unit of the BJP, on 10 March, attempted to distance itself from MP Anantkumar Hegde’s remarks on amending the Constitution, calling them his “personal views”. The party said it would seek an explanation from him. The party added that it reaffirms its unwavering commitment to uphold the Constitution, and Hegde’s remarks do not reflect its stance.
