Bharat Biotech on Sunday, 24 March, said it started clinical trials of the Tuberculosis vaccine Mtbvac on Indian adults. This is the first vaccine against TB derived from a human source by the Spanish company, Biofabri. Mtbvac is being developed as a more effective and potentially longer-lasting vaccine than BCG and for the prevention of TB in adults and adolescents.
