Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 30 April, attacked the Congress — which said the BJP would abrogate the Constitution — saying that as long as he was alive, he wouldn’t allow reservations for Muslims based on religion. At a rally in Medak, Telangana, he said quotas for SC, ST and OBCs would continue and declared he would continue to protect the Constitution.
