The Supreme Court verdict ends the suspense over the fate of over one lakh aspiring doctors who had qualified in NEET-2024.

The Supreme Court on Tuesday refused to cancel the NEET-UG 2024 or order a retest, saying that despite two localised leaks it cannot be concluded that there was a systemic breach. Acknowledging that the test paper was leaked in Jharkhand’s Hazaribagh and Bihar’s Patna, Chief Justice DY Chandrachud’s bench said it would be unjustified to subject 23.33 lakh aspirants to a re-exam.
