Kerala Finance Minister KN Balagopal on 22 June urged the Union government to announce a special package of ₹24,000 crore for the state in the Union Budget 2024-25. Balagopal made the request in the pre-budget discussion. Balagopal pointed out that the state took all measures to enhance its revenue but the government “was going through a very serious liquidity crunch”.
