Senior IPS officer AB Venkateswara Rao was reinstated by the Andhra Pradesh government on Friday, 31 May, on the day of his retirement. The state government issued an order appointing him as the Commissioner of the Printing, Stationery and Stores Purchase Department. This was directed by the Central Administrative Tribunal on 8 May, which quashed the suspension order against him.
