Amid paper leak row, Centre notifies law to curb irregularities

The notification of the Act comes just a day after Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan was asked when the legislation would be implemented.

The Centre on Friday, 21 June, operationalised a law to curb malpractices and irregularities in competitive examinations and award maximum jail term of 10 years and a fine of up to ₹1 crore for offenders. It came into force on 21 June. This comes amid charges against NTA for badly conducting national examinations and failure to prevent leaks and irregularities.
