Air India Express cancels flights over crew’s mass ‘sick leave’

Earlier, a union representing Air India Express crew alleged that the airline is being mismanaged and a lack of equality in treatment of staff.

Protests erupted in Thiruvananthapuram, Kannur and Cochin airports as the Tata Group-owned Air India Express cancelled and delayed scores of domestic and international flights on 8 May following a lightning strike by its employees for alleged mismanagement by the Tata Group. A full refund or complimentary date rescheduling offer failed to appease the angry passengers who vented on social media.
