The Kerala Forest Department has introduced AI-powered solar fencing to mitigate human-wildlife conflicts. Sensing animals close to the fenced area, the system immediately alerts residents and rapid response teams via their mobile phones. The fencing will be equipped with alarms and bright lights triggered by an animal’s presence. This is superior to electrified fences which cause loss of life.
