After 4 days of indecisiveness, Cong rejects SDPI support

SDPI's offer of support stirred controversy, with both BJP and LDF accusing the Congress of taking support from extremist groups.

After remaining indecisive for four days over SDPI’s offer to support it in the polls, Congress rejected its backing. The delay in rejecting the offer made NDA and LDF accuse Congress of taking the support of an extremist group. The banned PFI’s political arm SDPI made the offer on 1 April, and the KPCC, after discussions, rejected it on 4 April.
