Activists write to Telangana CM for ‘comprehensive policing reforms’

They alleged that the modernisation of policing in Telangana resulted in the police holding excessive and arbitrary powers over citizens.

The Telangana chapter of National Alliance of People’s Movements wrote to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, seeking his intervention to stop the police holding excessive and arbitrary powers over citizens. The letter, signed by several activists, highlighted the need for comprehensive policing reforms to stop the violation of Constitutional and human rights, privacy, and freedom of expression of citizens.
