5 K’taka Congress legislators raise dissent over Kolar candidate

Dissent is over Minister KH Muniyappa, whose daughter is already an MLA, demanding ticket to his son-in-law Chikkapeddanna from Kolar.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and his deputy DK Shivakumar will chair an emergency meeting late on Wednesday, 27 March, to address open dissent over the candidate of the Kolar (SC) seat. Five legislators including a minister and the CM’s political secretary are opposed to Chikkapeddanna, son-in-law of Minister KH Muniyappa as the candidate. Muniyappa’s daughter is already an MLA.
