Rastriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant organised the 1st ever “National Vendor Interaction Programme-2023” at Ukkunagaram township in Visakhapatnam on Saturday, 28 January.
Over 200 vendors from various parts of the country participated in the event.
Addressing the vendors, RINL Chairman and Managing Director Atul Bhatt said that such vendor interactive programmes would enable the growth of both suppliers and RINL.
He emphasised the need for strengthening the partnership between RINL and the vendors.
“RINL & Vendors have a symbiotic relationship as the fortunes of both are interlinked,” Bhatt added.
He expressed that the indigenisation of imports spares is an immediately available opportunity for the vendors. Several measures taken by RINL towards indigenisation have resulted in significant savings, he said.

In his address, GVR Naidu, additional director-in-charge, MSME- DFO, Visakhapatnam thanked the management of RINL for its measures in encouraging and supporting the MSEs, especially local MSEs.
In their presentations to the vendors, officials of the Government e-marketplace (GeM), explained in detail the process of registering in GeM and the advantages of improving business through it for both buyers and sellers.
National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC) and MSME officials in their presentation explained in detail about various schemes and programmes offered towards Integrated Support to MSMEs.
Several senior officials from Works Division, Purchase, Stores, Marketing, and officials from various government and non-government institutions participated.
