CM announces a complete overhaul

He further announced a complete overhaul of the industrial focal points and industrial zones.

“Focal points and industrial zones are in dilapidated conditions which are hampering the development of industries and this shall be resolved by comprehensive development of these points and a blueprint has already been prepared for same,” he said

The Punjab government also gave major relief to the industrialists aspiring to construct any building.

Mann said, “If any industrialist aspires to construct a building by excavating a basement then he has to apply it on the Invest Punjab portal. The permission for this will be given within 72 hours and if it is not approved within this period, it will be deemed approved.”

Mann also announced plans to provide power meters and other basic amenities to the people residing in the colonies which primarily constitute industrial labour.

“State government is committed to providing a congenial atmosphere to the industry in the state. We will make all efforts to ensure that Punjab is the front-runner in industrial development and our newly introduced policy will help us. We are available with our transparent system to help industries grow. Flights from Ludhiana to Hindon have already been started and now efforts will be made to get one to Delhi,” said Mann.

Kejriwal lauds Mann

Lauding Mann for his commitment to the cause of industrial development, Kejriwal said that Punjab was witnessing the migration of industries from other states for the first time, rather than them opting out.

“450 industries from the other states have shifted their operations to Punjab during the last few months. This is contrary to the earlier trend when the exodus of the industry was taking place and they were going to other states,” said Kejriwal during an interaction with industrialists in Ludhiana on Friday.

Dismissing the allegations of these meetings being run up for the 2024 general elections, Kejriwal said that they were not chasing votes.

“This interaction is not for getting votes but to assure that we are with industry. The government will meet industrialists at least 10 times. The vision and ideas of industrialists coupled with support from the state government will help in promoting industry in the state”, he added.
