Disney+Hotstar OTT debut for Mohanlal movie ‘Monster’ on 2 December

Veteran Malayalam actor Mohanlal’s latest film Monster will start streaming on Disney+Hotstar from 2 December, the streamer announced on Friday, 25 November.

The streamer posted the announcement on its official Instagram page.

Directed by Vysakh, the Malayalam-language feature film released in theatres countrywide in October.

“Monster” also stars Honey Rose, Lakshmi Manchu, Lena, Sudev Nair, Siddique and Ganesh Kumar.

A crime thriller, the movie features the 62-year-old actor in the role of Lucky Singh. The film has been penned by Udaykrishna.

Critics slammed movie

Critics were uniformly harsh on Monster when it released and it had a poor run at the box office. They expressed surprised that the duo who had served up the blockbuster movie Pulimurugan in 2016, could come up with a poorly scripted and “embarrassingly unimaginative” movie.

In fact, after Monster‘s disastrous run at the box office, all eyes are now on Mohanlal’s next, RAM — an action thriller written and directed by Jeethu Joseph, who had teamed up with the superstar for the Drishyam franchise and 12th Man.

Trisha is playing the leading lady in RAM. It also stars Samyuktha Menon, Indrajith Sukumaran, Anoop Menon and Suman in major roles.

Vishnu Shyam is the music director. Ramesh P Pillai and Sundan S Pillai are jointly producing it under Abhishek Films and Passion Studios.
