The long wait has begun for 1,210 candidates in 88 seats spread over 13 states and a Union Territory after the completion of the second phase of the Lok Sabha polls on Friday, 26 April.

The Election Commission put the voter turnout at over 60 percent, which could change when last-minute voters, too, are taken into account. Barring a few minor incidents, the polling was peaceful.

Polling was held in 20 seats in Kerala, 14 in Karnataka, 13 in Rajasthan, eight each in Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra, seven in Madhya Pradesh, five each in Assam and Bihar, three each in Bengal and Chhattisgarh, and one each in Jammu and Kashmir, Manipur and Tripura.
