Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar will fight to win Thiruvananthapuram seat in Kerala, currently held by Congress’ Shashi Tharoor in Lok Sabha elections 2024.

The BJP announced its first list of candidates for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections on Saturday, 2 March. The list comprised of 195 candidates, with 21 candidates from the southern states of Kerala and Telangana.

BJP did not announce any names for seats in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh on Saturday.

BJP general secretary Vinod Tawde started the list of candidates by announcing that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would once again contest from the Varanasi parliamentary constituency.

Among the southern states, the BJP has announced candidates for 12 out of the 20 seats from Kerala and nine of the 17 seats from Telangana.
