Modi on Lok Sabha elections 2024

Addressing a rally ahead of Lok Sabha elections in Odisha’s Kandhamal on Saturday, 11 May, Prime Minister Narendra Modi claimed that Congress will not win even 50 seats and will not get the Opposition party status after polls.

While assuring the people gathered at Kandhamal’s Phubani that the state will get a double-engine government for the first time, the prime minister said “Congress won’t win even 50 seats, will not get opposition party status after polls.”

Speaking about the BJP’s accomplishments in the last 10 years, he asserted that by building the Ram temple in Ayodhya, the party “ended 500 years of people’s wait”.

He also spoke about the saffron party’s achievements 26 years ago, saying that when former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee conducted the Pokhran test, he enhanced India’s image globally.

Lok Sabha elections in Odisha are set to be conducted in four phases beginning on 13 May.

PM Narendra expressed gratitude for the love and blessings from people in the state and promised that only a son or daughter of Odisha will become the next chief minister.

“Son or daughter of soil who understands Odia language, culture will become CM of BJP govt in Odisha,” he explained.

Of the 21 Lok Sabha constituencies in Odisha, four are going to polls on 13 May. In 2019, the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) was the frontrunner with 12 seats while BJP and Congress won eight and one seats respectively.
