The BJP insists that 17 September is Hyderabad Liberation Day. The Congress opposes it. The BRS wants to continue its National Integration Day celebrations. Home Minister Amit Shah says it is a historic day in honour of the martyrs of what he said was the Hyderabad Liberation Movement. The saffron party says it marked the end of the tyranny of Nizams.
