Telangana ACB nets officer for taking Rs 18,000 bribe to clear Rs 20 lakh loan

A case has been registered, and Murali is being produced before the ACB Court in Hyderabad, the bureau confirmed.

Synopsis: ACB officials in Hyderabad caught community organiser K Murali from Moospet Circle 53 red‑handed while accepting a ₹18,000 bribe from a women’s self‑help group. He had demanded the money for processing a ₹20 lakh loan. A case is registered and Murali is being produced before the ACB Court.

Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officers on Tuesday, 10 March, caught a community organiser from Circle 53 in the Kukatpally zone, after he was caught accepting a bribe of ₹18,000 from a women’s self-help group.

The accused, K Murali, employed in Moospet Circle 53, had demanded the payment in return for processing a loan of ₹20 lakh sanctioned for members of the Mahila Podupu Sangam, according to an ACB press release.

Following a complaint, officials set up a trap and caught Murali in the act as he received the money, reported Telangana Today.

A case has been registered, and he is being produced before the ACB Court in Hyderabad, the bureau confirmed.
