Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau arrested a panchayat secretary for allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹15,000 in Jogulamba Gadwal district on Friday, 13 March.

The accused, Boya Ranganna, who serves as panchayat secretary of Eklaspur village in Leeja mandal, had initially demanded ₹20,000 from a complainant to release the first instalment of his Indiramma housing benefit and to ensure the remaining three instalments were sanctioned without hindrance, the ACB stated.
He was nabbed while taking the reduced sum of ₹15,000 at the Mandal Parishad Development Office, reported The Hindu. The accused is being presented before a special court, and further enquiries are underway, according to the ACB.
