Karnataka Lokayukta raids unearth assets worth Rs 3.08 crore from BDA officer

Synopsis: Karnataka Lokayukta Police raided multiple premises linked to Range Forest Officer Dalesh AL, uncovering disproportionate assets worth about Rs 3.08 crore. The searches revealed plots, houses, farmland, vehicles, cash, and jewellery, intensifying scrutiny of corruption within the Bengaluru Development Authority.

Karnataka Lokayukta on Saturday, 7 March, carried out coordinated raids at more than four sites linked to a government officer accused of amassing assets beyond known income, uncovering properties valued at roughly Rs 3.08 crore, according to a PTI reported.

The searches targeted the residences, office, and premises of relatives of Dalesh AL, a Range Forest Officer serving with the Bengaluru Development Authority (BDA), they said.

The operations were conducted in connection with a disproportionate assets case registered against him at the Lokayukta police station in Bengaluru, officials added.

During the raids, immovable properties worth about Rs 2.70 crore were identified, including three plots, two houses, a commercial building, and farmland, according to a senior Lokayukta officer.

Movable assets valued at over Rs 48 lakh were also seized. These comprisedRs 1.35 lakh in cash, gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 13 lakh, and vehicles estimated at around Rs 34 lakh, the officer noted.

In total, assets amounting to Rs 3.08 crore were detected during the searches, they confirmed.
