ACB raids Telangana R&B Chief Engineer J Balu’s residences

Synopsis: During the searches, officials allegedly found large amounts of cash, gold biscuits, silver articles, and bottles of imported liquor at his residence. Authorities are continuing to assess the extent of his assets and determine whether they are disproportionate to his known sources of income.

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) conducted searches from the early hours of Tuesday, 9 June, at the residences and properties linked to J Balu, Chief Engineer (Engineer-in-Chief) of the Telangana Roads and Buildings Department.

According to reports, ACB officials launched simultaneous raids at 11 locations, including his residence in Madhapur, based on information received regarding his assets and financial dealings.

There have reportedly been allegations against the official for some time. He has been accused of collecting substantial commissions from contractors in connection with road contracts and other construction works.
