ACB nabs Huzurabad engineer taking Rs 50,000 bribe

Synopsis: ACB officials in Huzurabad trapped municipal Assistant Engineer Nusum Sudhakar Reddy while accepting a ₹50,000 bribe from a contractor for storm drain project billing clearance.

Officers of the Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested municipal Assistant Engineer Nusum Sudhakar Reddy in Huzurabad on Wednesday, 15 April, while he was receiving a 50,000 bribe from a contractor.

Sleuths  stated that Reddy, employed with Huzurabad municipality, had demanded the payment in return for recording Measurement Book entries and processing the final bill for a storm water drain project, reported Telangana Today.

The contractor, unwilling to comply, reported the matter to the ACB. Acting on the complaint, officials set a trap and caught Reddy red-handed at the RTC depot junction.
