Under the new nomination-based Golden Visa norm, a foreigner could apply for it without investing heavily in property or business.

Synopsis: It was reported earlier that applications for the Golden Visa could be made through One Vasco visa concierge service centres, Rayad Group offices, online portal, or dedicated call centres.

The UAE’s Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) has denied reports in some local and international media outlets and websites that the Emirates had relaxed the lifetime Golden Visas to certain nationalities.

Emirates News Agency (WAM) said Golden Visa categories, conditions, and regulations were clearly defined under official laws, legislations, and ministerial decisions.

ICP said that all Golden Visa applications were being handled exclusively through official government channels within the UAE, and that no internal or external consultancy entity has been recognised as an authorised party in the application process.

It was reported earlier that applications for the Golden Visa could be made through One Vasco visa concierge service centres, Rayad Group (which facilitates the pilot phase in India) offices, online portal, or dedicated call centres. South First, too, had carried a report.

Reports said Indians and Bangladeshis would be considered during the pilot phase.

ICP urged those seeking Golden Visas to refer to official sources to verify the accuracy of procedures — either through the Authority’s official website or by contacting the call centre at 600522222, available 24/7.
