Even as KCR is preparing for his bus yatras from Miryalaguda in erstwhile Nalgonda district on Wednesday, 24 April, Telangana Minister for Roads, Buildings and Cinematography Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Tuesday, questioned KCR’s choice of the town, where the BRS does not exist at all.

Speaking to media persons, Venkat Reddy, who represents the erstwhile Nalgonda district, asked: “Are you arriving in Miryalaguda with a walking stick to help Andhra Pradesh get a maximum share of Krishna waters?”

He pointed out how KCR had allowed Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy to augment the capacity of Pothireddypadu Head Regulator, construct the Muchumarri project on the Krishna river, and implement the Rayalaseema Lift Irrigation Scheme, which were all intended to rob Telangana of its rightful share of Krishna waters.

‘BRS won’t win even one LS seat’

The minister said that it was KCR who had destroyed Nalgonda district with his misplaced and ill-advised irrigation policies.

KCR should have been out of his mind to propose diversion of Godavari waters to Nagarjuna Sagar tail pond, Venkat Reddy said. He squarely blamed KCR for the drought that has a vice-like grip on the state.

Taking exception to KCR saying that about 20 Congress MLAs were in touch with him, Venkat Reddy said that it was in fact the other way round. “There are at least 25 BRS MLAs who are ready to join the Congress if he gives him the green signal,” Venkat Reddy said.

The roads and buildings minister said that the BRS will not win even one Lok Sabha seat.

“The party is all washed up. Let the BRS at least try to win the Medak district, where it is perceived to be strong,” he said.

He predicted that the Congress would win at least 13 to 14 seats and BJP might pick up a few seats but KCR’s party would draw a blank in the election.

Even if KCR took out a yatra on his knees, he would not be able to win either Nalgonda or Bhongir, the minister said. The candidates that BRS is putting up for both the sets are not fit even to be fielded in sarpanch elections, he said.

“In Miryalaguda, the Congress nominee in Assembly elections, Bathula Lakshma Reddy, won the seat with over 48,000 even though he did not campaign following a death in his family. What would KCR do in Miryalaguda? He should have some sense of shame,” Venkat Reddy said.

The minister also mentioned that Congress nominee for Nalgonda Lok Sabha seat, K Raguveer Reddy, will file his nomination papers on Wednesday and also expressed confidence that Congress will come to power at the national level.

Rahul Gandhi is sure to become the prime minister of the nation. The days of the BJP reaping a rich harvest of votes by inflaming passions are long gone, Venkat Reddy added.
