As India faces heightened cross-border tension following Operation Sindoor, Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu on Friday chaired a high-level review meeting to assess and bolster the state’s internal security preparedness.
Top state officials, including IT Minister Sridhar Babu, Tourism Minister Jupally Krishna Rao, Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao, DGP Jitender, and the police commissioners of Hyderabad, Cyberabad, and Rachakonda, were present.

The meeting focused on tightening security across key infrastructure points and ensuring public readiness in case of emergencies. Bhatti directed police to chalk out a comprehensive action plan, alert the public at least 24 hours in advance for any precautionary measures, and conduct mock drills to ensure preparedness. He also advised setting up siren alert systems in Hyderabad and equipping all zones accordingly.
A special control room has been established in Telangana Bhavan, Delhi, to monitor the safety of Telangana students in other states.
Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao informed the deputy CM that heightened security has been deployed at defence-related industries, and hospitals have been directed to display red ‘plus’ signs on rooftops for aerial identification.
DGP Jitender reported a three-tier security cover at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, beefed-up surveillance at bus and railway stations, and the deployment of cyber teams to tackle misinformation on social media. He also disclosed that authorities are considering a Ukraine-style alert app to issue emergency warnings to citizens.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy expressed solidarity with the Indian Army, announcing the donation of one month’s salary to the National Defence Fund. “As an Indian first, I am making a modest contribution,” he posted on X, urging colleagues and citizens to follow suit.
The announcement came a day after he led a solidarity march in Hyderabad, rallying public support for the armed forces amid the escalating India-Pakistan conflict.
