He said only the Congress could release the people of Telangana from the clutches of the miss rule of the BRS government.
Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president A Revanth Reddy on Sunday, 25 June, accused Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao of surrendering before Prime Minister Narendra Modi to protect his properties.
“People stopped believing the chief minister in Telangana even if he continues to visit New Delhi regularly. For the last nine years, he looted the state,” he said.
The prime minister was serious about the probe against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in connection with the liquor scam, but he seems to be not serious about the allegations levelled against Chandrashekar Rao’s family, he said.
Seeking to know why the BJP was silent on the corruption of the BRS government, Reddy asked why the Union government was not probing the Telangana chief minister who looted ₹1 lakh crore.
He said only the Congress could release the people of Telangana from the clutches of the miss rule of the BRS government.
Reddy said the relationship between the BJP and the BRS was breakable and added the meeting of Municipal Administration Minister KT Rama Rao with Union ministers in New Delhi was not aimed at protecting the interests of Telangana but to release properties that were seized during the recent Income Tax (I-T) raids on companies of Chandrashekar Rao’s family.
Rama Rao also attempted to manage the media to prevent it from covering the news. Reddy said Chandrashekar Rao surrendered before Modi to protect his properties seized during the I-T raids.
Meanwhile, Revanth Reddy will meet Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi to discuss two suspended BRS leaders, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and Jupally Krishna Rao, joining the grand old party.
Both Srinivas Reddy and Krishna Rao will meet Rahul Gandhi on 26 June in the presence of Revanth Reddy.
After meeting Rahul Gandhi, the two suspended BRS leaders will meet Congress leaders Priyanka Gandhi and AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge.
