Supreme Court Collegium recommends transfer of 21 High Court judges

The Ministry of Law and Justice will process these recommendations for formal notification, following which the judges will be relieved of their current postings and assume duties at their respective transferred or repatriated High Courts.

Supreme Court Collegium recommends transfer of 21 High Court judges

Synopsis: The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the transfer and repatriation of 21 judges across various High Courts following its meeting on 26 May.

The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the transfer and repatriation of 21 judges across various High Courts in the country. The decisions were taken at a meeting held on Monday, 26 May.

Among the notable recommendations, Justice Sujoy Paul is proposed to be transferred from the Telangana High Court to the Calcutta High Court.

Justice V Kameswar Rao is set to return to the Delhi High Court from Karnataka, while Justice Dinesh Kumar Singh is recommended to move from the Kerala High Court to Karnataka.

Justice Battu Devanand, currently serving at the Madras High Court, is proposed to return to the Andhra Pradesh High Court.

Justice C Sumalatha is recommended to move from Karnataka back to her parent High Court in Telangana.
