Pawan Kalyan confidently asserted that his party, along with the TDP, would form the next government in Andhra Pradesh.
The defeat of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s YSRCP in the 2024 Andhra Pradesh Assembly polls is a foregone conclusion — the party will not win more than 15 seats in the 175-member House.
That is the prediction of Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan.
Addressing a public meeting at Avanigadda in Krishna district during the fourth phase of his Varahi Vijaya Yatra, on Sunday, 1 October, the actor-politician also contended that the TDP-Jana Sena alliance was the “vaccine” to counter the “virus” called YSRCP.
Pawan Kalyan confidently asserted said that his party, along with TDP, will form the next government in Andhra Pradesh.
Pawan Kalyan, however, said that he was not desperate for power but wanted to work for the betterment of people and a good future for the state.
Hitting out at Chief Minister Jagan, the Jana Sena chief said the state government has failed to conduct exams for the recruitment of teachers — one among its many “failures”.

On 14 September, Pawan Kalyan had declared: “Jana Sena and TDP will contest the elections together next year. I have faith in (TDP chief Nara) Chandrababu Naidu’s leadership and experience.”
The announcement came after a meeting the actor-politician had with Naidu, in the company of TDP leader and actor N Balakrishna, and Naidu’s son and TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh, at the Rajamahendravaram Central Jail during “mulaqat” hour.
Speaking to reporters then, the Jana Sena chief emphasised the need to oust the YSRCP government at the hustings and expressed the hope that the BJP would join the effort.
The Jana Sena is already in a formal alliance with the BJP, but the saffron party does not appear to be greatly enthused by the idea of joining hands with the TDP, largely because of its distrust of Naidu, a one-time ally.
Pawan Kalyan stated that his primary goal was to put Andhra Pradesh back on the road to development.
He referred to Naidu as a seasoned politician and labelled Jagan Mohan Reddy as an economic offender.
Pawan Kalyan has long been advocating an alliance of all Opposition parties in Andhra Pradesh, including the BJP, to challenge the YSRCP regime.
Following his meeting with Naidu, Pawan Kalyan, for the first time, made an unequivocal statement about the alliance with the TDP.
Reacting to the alliance for the first time on 16 September, in an oblique reference to actor-poitician Pawan Kalyan, the Andhra Pradesh chief minister said that the one who had said that he entered public life to question all wrongdoings, went to Rajamahendravaram Central Prison and struck a deal with Naidu, instead of questioning him why he resorted to corruption.
“It was milakhat at mulaqat,” Jagan Mohan Reddy said.
