Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president A Revanth Reddy ruled out the possibility of an alliance between the Congress and the BRS as long as he was in the saddle.

Speaking to reporters in Delhi on Tuesday, 4 April, he also said that his party would bag at least 80 seats in the Assembly elections later this year.

The BRS would not get more than 25, while the BJP would end a distant third with a single-digit tally, he said.

‘No alliance with BRS’

The TPCC president said that his party’s high command had made it very clear to him that there was no proposal to strike any alliance with the BRS.

“I have been told that there was no question of allowing the BRS anywhere near the Congress,” he said.

He also recalled Rahul Gandhi saying that if anyone held talks with the BRS, serious action would be initiated against them.

The Congress leader reiterated that the BRS and the BJP had a tacit understanding to destroy the Congress.

He stated that this was the reason the BJP was trying to emerge as an alternative to the BRS.

He wondered why the BJP had not ordered an inquiry into the “ill-gotten wealth” Telangana Chief Minister and BRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao if what he alleged was not true.

Against KCR and BRS

Revanth Reddy said that the people had come out of KCR’s spell and now they know the difference between chalk and cheese. He said that he already had feedback that the people are raring to send KCR home.

He referred to the Telangana Armed Struggle to describe the yearning of the people to be free from the yoke of the BRS government.

The Congress leader said that KCR was steeped in corruption. He recalled that he himself filed 50 complaints against the BRS chief.

He alleged that KCR’s family assets had crossed ₹1 lakh crore and that KCR was dancing to the tunes of the BJP.

When it came to public posturing, he appeared to be daggers drawn with the saffron party, said Revanth Reddy.

Reddy said that all the institutions in Telangana had collapsed under the maladministration of the KCR government.

Question papers of all examinations had leaked since the formation of Telangana state in 2014, he said, pointing out that there was no government in the state at present. “It has become dysfunctional,” he averred.
