Nation unites behind Operation Sindoor, transcending political differences

Synopsis: Following Operation Sindoor, the Indian government and the armed forces have been receiving praise for the “action against terrorism”. Opposition parties also commended the government and the Army for the action.

After the Union Ministry of Defence revealed India’s action against the recent Pahalgam attack, Operation Sindoor, the government and the armed forces have been receiving praise for the “action against terrorism”.

After India hit nine “terrorist infrastructure” sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said: “The world must show zero tolerance for terrorism.”

Opposition parties also commended the government and the Army for the action.

Meanwhile, China expressed concerns over the situation.

“China finds India’s military operation early this morning regrettable. We are concerned about the ongoing situation. India and Pakistan are and will always be each other’s neighbours. They’re both China’s neighbours as well. China opposes all forms of terrorism. We urge both sides to act in the larger interest of peace and stability, remain calm, exercise restraint and refrain from taking actions that may further complicate the situation,” said the Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson.

Southern CMs support action against terror

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin said the state stands with the Indian Army against terrorism. “With our Army, for our nation. Tamil Nadu stands resolute,” he wrote in a post on X.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said he salutes the extraordinary courage of our armed forces behind Operation Sindhoor.

“Their heroic action reaffirms that India will never tolerate terror in any form. The brutal attack in Pahalgam was not just on innocent lives, it was an assault on the dreams and spirit of India. Every effort of our brave soldiers is a pledge to bring justice to the victims, their families, and to every Indian who believes in peace and humanity.”

“Karnataka joins the nation in expressing unwavering solidarity with our forces. We are proud of your valour, sacrifice, and unflinching commitment to protect our sovereignty. Terror has no place in our land. India will respond with strength and unity,” he said.

“As an Indian citizen first, standing strongly with our armed forces. The strikes against terror factories in Pakistan & PoK make us proud. Let us make this a moment for national solidarity and unity, and all of us speak in one voice – Jai Hind!” said Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu also expressed pride.

‘Reply to terrorists’

Reuven Azar, Ambassador of Israel to India, said: “Israel supports India’s right for self defense. Terrorists should know there’s no place to hide from their heinous crimes against the innocent.”

“#OperationSindoor is a befitting reply to the cowardly Pahalgam terror attack. We stand with the govt, we stand with our security forces,” Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar wrote on X.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) said the soldiers of the Indian Army have replied to the terrorists in their own language.

“The whole country stands with the Indian Army. Every citizen of the country has full faith in the valour and courage of the army, and the entire country is united in this fight against terrorism,” it said.

BRS leader and Telangana MLC Kavitha told ANI, ” Today, I am really proud that our Indian Army has struck the terror camps in Pakistan and in PoK…I am happy that all those who went for the strikes have returned safely. Today, as a nation, we all should stand together, united, rise above the political ideology…today India comes first…”

Victims express gratitude

Asavari Jagdale, daughter of Santosh Jagdale, who was killed in the Pahalgam terror attack, said the name of the operation was a tribute to all the victims.

“I cried a lot on hearing the name of the operation. It is a real tribute and justice to those who were killed by terrorists,” she told ANI.

Ashanya, the wife of Shubham Dwivedi, who was killed in Pahalgam, expressed gratitude towards the government and the Army. She said that by naming the operation Sindoor, the authorities have connected emotionally to the victims.

“Proud of our Armed Forces. Jai Hind!” wrote Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on X.

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor said he was so proud of the country.

“A set of calibrated, calculated, precise strikes against terror targets. Exactly what I had advocated last week: hit hard, hit smart. I applaud the government and stand solidly with our armed forces. At the same time, we have behaved in a manner that would not justify further expansion of the conflict. We have made our point and acted in self-defence. Time for all concerned to act wisely to prevent uncontrolled escalation,” he said in another post on X.

“May justice be served. Jai Hind,” said Telugu actor Allu Arjun.
