KTR

BRS Working President KT Rama Rao on Saturday, 20 January, predicted that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy will soon emerge as the “Eknath Shinde of Telangana”.

“He is miniature version of [Prime Minister] Narendra Modi. The Congress and the BJP will come together after the Lok Sabha polls. BJP blood courses through Revanth Reddy’s veins,” KTR said while addressing BRS workers of the Secunderabad Lok Sabha constituency at the party headquarters Telangana Bhavan in Hyderabad.

His reference was to Chief Minister Eknath Shinde in neighbouring Maharashtra, who split the Shiv Sena and got himself the top job by aligning with the BJP.

‘Deliver on your promises’

Slamming Revanth Reddy for his statements that he would bury the BRS in a 100-metre deep pit, KTR asked him to concentrate on delivering the guarantees offered to the people by the Congress within the promised 100 days of coming to power — and then think of burying the BRS party in a 100-meter pit.

“Why should you bury the BRS? Is it for achieving Telangana, or for developing Telangana, or for questioning the false promises of the Congress party?” KTR asked, adding that the BRS had seen thousands of arrogant leaders like Revanth Reddy in its journey.

The party has stood strong for over two decades and has shown such leaders their place, he added.

Recalling Revanth Reddy’s poll-eve promises, the BRS leader asked the people not to pay the power bills until free electricity supply is ensured to the households under Gruha Jyothi. He recalled Revanth Reddy saying that Sonia Gandhi would pay the power bills after the Congress came to power.

“If officials ask for payment of power bills, show them Revanth Reddy’s video,” he said, and advised people to send their power bills to Sonia Gandhi at 10 Janpath in Delhi.

‘Free power — now’

KTR asked the state government to immediately implement free power supply promise and make it applicable to the tenants in houses. He demanded immediate disbursal of ₹2,500 to every housewife in the state under the Mahalakshmi scheme.

The BRS party would not spare the Congress government if they tried to evade implementing their promises, he said.

He said in just 50 days of the Congress rule in Telangana, people were suffering because it could not deliver on its promises. For instance, auto drivers were suffering and were even dying by suicide since the government had failed to go to their rescue after their livelihood was threatened by free bus travel for women.

“Farmers are not receiving the Rythu Bandhu money,” he added.

People should remember that Congress did not give six guarantees, but made 420 promises. “The BRS will question the Congress party until they deliver all the election promises,” KTR said.

KTR thanked the leaders and party workers who toiled for the victory of the BRS party. He thanked the people for standing by the BRS party in the Assembly elections.

Targeting the BJP

Training his guns at the BJP, KTR reiterated that the BJP and the BRS would not have any tuck in the ensuing Lok Sabha elections — or in the future.

He threw punches at Union Minister G Kishan Reddy, asking him what he had done for Telangana so far. He ridiculed Kishan Reddy for inaugurating lifts at Seethaphalmandi Railway station in Secunderabad at a time when KCR was constructing projects like Kaleshwaram.

“The BRS government has constructed 36 flyovers, but the BJP was taking years to complete the construction of the Uppal and Amberpet flyovers,” he said.

Attacking the BJP and its leadership, KTR said that only BRS has the power to restrict BJP in the state. He said that the Assembly election results were just a speed breaker for the BRS party, and irrespective of the results, the party will stand by the people.
