KTR also criticised the Congress for attempting to sweep their promises to the people under the rug and expressed the BRS's commitment to holding them accountable.

BRS Working President KT Rama Rao declared, on Monday, 22 January, that he senses a sympathy wave emerging in favour of party supremo K Chandrashekar Rao, following the recent setback in the Telangana Assembly elections.
Addressing a gathering of workers from the Nalgonda Lok Sabha constituency — the 17th and final in the series — at Telangana Bhavan in Hyderabad, he emphasised the need to capitalise on the sympathy factor for a triumphant showing in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
“The party workers should keep in mind that the Congress is losing its credibility very fast. Several sections have already moved away from the grand old party. If leaders and workers work shoulder to shoulder, winning the Lok Sabha elections would become easy,” he said.
The BRS working president and former Telangana IT minister asserted that, henceforth, workers should lead the party. “You are key to the party’s success in the future,” he said and pointed out that if the BRS was strong even today, it was because of their unwavering support.
He pointed out that in all Lok Sabha constituency meetings, it was the party workers who reassured leadership about the party’s bright future.
Regarding the lacklustre performance in Nalgonda during the recent Assembly polls, KTR attributed it to misleading feedback, stating, “It appeared as if everything was going in the party’s favour but the verdict came against us. We had no iota of doubt of losing Assembly segments in Nalgonda Parliamentary constituency.”
KTR said that the party activists had told the leadership that if the BRS lost in Nalgonda district, except in Suryapet, it was because of the yawning gap between the party and the government. This is one of several factors that led to the party’s downfall in the Assembly elections in Nalonda, he said.

KTR criticised the Congress for attempting to sweep their promises to the people under the rug and expressed the party’s commitment to hold them accountable. “The Congress leaders are worried that BRS would confront them. They appear to be jittery and are on the edge even before we have raised our voice,” he said and wondered what would be the fate of the Congress when KCR steps into the Assembly.
He said that the Congress leaders never imagined that they would come to power in the state. He asserted that that was why they had made several promises, which were hard to implement. “We will pursue them until they deliver on their promises,” he assured.
Taking a swipe at Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, he said that in order to win the elections, the Congress leader had spoken all rot about the BRS. The BRS workers should now expose the Congress, he charged.
KTR said, “Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkata Reddy, in the run-up to the elections, had asked the people not to pay power bills. Now, people of Nalgonda district should send their power bills to Venkata Reddy to pay them.”
Raising the issue of the denial of a fair share of Krishna River water to Telangana state, KTR blamed the state government for losing control of projects on the river to the KRMB (Krishna River Management Board). Apart from this, the government was yet to release water for the tail-end areas of the Sriram Sagar Project, while farmers under the Nagarjuna Sagar Project were now contemplating going in for a crop holiday due to a lack of water.
The BRS leader reiterated that the Congress and the BJP were working together. “Prime Minster Narendra Modi is playing Revanth Reddy to harm the BRS interests,” he said and urged the Muslim minorities to understand the game plan of the two parties.
The BRS working president announced that the Assembly segment-wise meetings would begin in the first week of February.
