Hyderabad metro Patancheru

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Thursday, 22 June, promised the extension of the Hyderabad metro rail up to Patancheru in the Sangareddy district if voted to power for the third consecutive term in the elections to the Assembly in December this year.

The chief minister, after laying the foundation stone for a ₹183-crore 200-bed super-speciality hospital in Patancheru, said that there should be metro rail connectivity between Patancheru and Hayathnagar.

“I will clear the proposal in the first Cabinet meeting after coming to power for the third time,” he said.

Sanctions polytechnic college

On the occasion, KCR also sanctioned a polytechnic college for the Patancheru industrial area and announced that 2,000 double-bedroom apartments in Kollur had been allotted to beneficiaries in Patancheru.

He said after the formation of Telangana in 2014, there had been tremendous development.

“Before the state was created, the Andhra leaders tried to frighten the people that if the division took place, Telangana would be plunged into darkness. In fact, when the state was united, there used to be agitations for power supply in Patancheru but now power supply is available in three shifts to all the industrial units,” he said.

KCR said he could not have achieved this development without the support and affection of the people, workers, people’s representatives, and officials.

The chief minister also promised steps for the location of IT companies in Patancheru, and the beautification of Ramasamudram Lake on the lines of Komati Lake in Siddipet. He also promised a revenue division for Patacheru.

Thanking former chief secretary

He said he was thankful to former chief secretary Rajiv Sharma for his efforts in the construction of a super speciality hospital.

He is at present continuing as the chairman of the Pollution Control Board at my request, the chief minister said.

KCR, before laying the foundation stone for the super-speciality hospital, inaugurated Asia’s largest housing colony with 15,650 double-bedroom apartments in Kolluru in Ramachandrapuram Mandal in Sangareddy district. These apartments are expected to house about 60,000 people.

The chief minister also inaugurated the largest railway coach factory in the private sector in India built by Medha Group in Kondagal in the Rangareddy district.

It has been built with an investment of ₹2,500 crore which is expected to provide direct and indirect employment to 2,200 people.

Secures order before inauguration

According to the officials, the factory bagged a ₹600-crore order from Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority for manufacturing 10 mono-rail rakes even before its inauguration.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that he was happy that he was inaugurating the company for which Medha Group had invested ₹2,500 crore. He wished that the railway coach factory would grow further in the future.

He said the industries were coming up in Telangana because his government had brought forth TS-iPASS (Telangana State Industrial Project Approval and Self-Certification System).

It is a single window to provide all clearances and one of its provisions was that for any reason a clearance is not given within 15 days, it would be deemed to have been issued.

If any file is pending on any officer’s table, he would have to pay a penalty of ₹1,000 per day, the chief minister said.
