The Meteorological Centre of Hyderabad issued fresh rain and thunderstorm alerts on Tuesday, 14 March,for several districts of Telangana.
Based on the forecast on Tuesday, the weather alerts for Telangana have been issued till 18 March.
A yellow alert is considered a “be prepared” warning, especially for farmers in view of potential crop damage.
Meanwhile, Hyderabad will likely have hazy weather and cloudy sky on 15 and 16 March. After that rainfall and thunderstorm are expected, according to the IMD.
Yellow alerts, suggesting light to moderate rainfall along with gusty winds, varied from district to district on a daily basis.
For 15 March, districts which are likely to witness rains or thundershowers are Adilabad, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Rajanna Sirsilla, Karimnagar, Peddapally, Warangal and Kamareddy.
For 16 March, thunderstorms and rainstorms are likely in Siddipet, Yadadri Bhuvangiri, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal, Malkajigiri, Sangareddy, Medak Adilabad, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial and Rajanna Sirsilla.
For 17 March, a downpour is expected in Rajanna Sirsilla, Karimnagar, Peddapally,Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Janagaon, Siddipet and Yadadri Bhuvangiri.
Heavy rainfall is expected in Nizamabad, Jagtial, Rajanna Sirsilla, Karimnagar, Peddapally, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Janagaon, Siddipet, Yadadri Bhuvangiri.
Meanwhile, Nizamabad, Jagityal, Rajanna Sirsilla, Karimnagar, Peddapally, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Janagaon, Siddipet, Yadadri Bhuvangiri are expected to witness heavy rain on 18 March.

“These rains are due to South Easterly winds. A trough is running from Jharkhand to Telangana across Chhattisgarh at 0.9 km above mean sea level,” the head scientist at the Weather Forecasting Department of IMD Hyderabad, K Nagaratna, told South First.
Weather enthusiasts have also predicted “powerful storms” across Telangana.
