The arrested included a three-member gang that wore burqas to recce the houses they intended to burgle in the city.
Telangana Police on Saturday, 3 September, arrested four persons for their alleged involvement in burglaries and thefts in Hyderabad. The police recovered gold ornaments, cars, motorcycles, laptops, mobile phones and other electronic gadgets from the arrested.
In the first incident, a 35-year-old man identified as Daravath Ramesh from the Suryapet district was arrested by LB Nagar Police of Rachakonda Police Commissionerate for his alleged involvement in thefts in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
According to a senior police officer deployed at Rachakonda Police Commissionerate, Ramesh was wanted by the police in more than 22 cases in the two Telugu-speaking states.
“Cases against him are registered at Rachakonda, Suryapet, Nalgonda, and Kothagudem districts in Telangana, and Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh,” the officer added.
The officer added that they recovered gold ornaments worth ₹5.5 lakh, two cars worth ₹27 lakh, two motorcycles worth ₹2.2 lakh, a laptop and three mobile phones.
In another development, the Meerpet Police of the Rachakonda Police Commissionerate arrested three persons identified as Hamdan Ashfaq, Mohammed Aiyaz Khan and Yaser Ulliman for their alleged involvement in house burglaries.
“All three persons arrested are 19 years old,” a senior police officer stationed at Meerpet police station said.
The officer added that they recovered gold ornaments worth ₹19.8 lakh, eight wrist watches worth ₹10.5 lakh, a scooter worth ₹70,000, a digital camera, a high-end smartphone and US dollars worth ₹32,000.
“The three, wearing burqas, carried out a recce to identify locked houses. They gained entry into the house by breaking the window panes and committed the crime,” the police officer said.
