Campuses of four new IT companies were inaugurated on Friday, 5 May, by the Telangana government in Hanumakonda district.

The four IT companies — LTI Mindtree, Genpact, HRH Next, Hexad Solutions Private Limited — were inaugurated by State IT and MA&UD Minister KT Rama Rao, popularly referred to as KTR.

KTR also handed over appreciation letters to representatives of the companies for setting up their facilities in Hanumakonda.

A science park at Lashkar Bazar Government School premises was also inaugurated in the Warangal city.

This comes three days after a new fulfilment centre (FC) of the e-commerce giant Flipkart was launched in the Sangareddy district by Telangana government.

Hiring of workforce

According to the Telangana government, the four companies have already starting their recruiting processes.

While the New-York city headquartered Genpact has already hired 400 associates from nearby colleges, the Mumbai-based Larsen & Toubro Infotech (LTI) Mindtree has also recruited over 60 associates locally.

Similarly, Hyderabad headquartered BPN Service Provider HRH Next has onboarded 120 associates in Warangal. The officials added that the company is planning to speed up the hiring process and taken on over 500 associates in the coming months.

Meanwhile, the Mississippi-based Hexad Solutions Group has hired over 50 associates people in Warangal. The company offers engineering and design services to Wireline, Wireless and CATV communications.

‘Plans to grow IT across Telangana’

Speaking after the inauguration, KTR asked youngsters from Warangal to fulfill their dreams by utilising the opportunities these companies provide and also explore avenues for entrepreneurship.

Over the years, several IT giants, including Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Qualcomm, and Uber, among others, have open their offices in Hyderabad.

Recently, Mahindra, MRF, Olectra, Myntra and Race Energy also opened new centers in Telangana, while ZF, Frisker, Stellantis, Hyundai and Biliti set up their campuses in Hyderabad.

As per the government, Telangana is likely to cross 2.2 lakh crore in exports in 2022-23, which is close to a 20 percent growth over the previous year.

The officials added that the IT sector, with a total employment of 7,85,614 direct jobs in 2021-22, added over 1.5 lakh jobs in that year alone.

Telangana government has rolled out GRID (Growth in Dispersion) and rural development policies to spur growth across the state.

KTR noted that, as part of the vision of Telangana, the plan is to encourage IT growth across the state and not limiting this to Hyderabad’s Hitec City and Gachibowli.

As part of that strategy, Telangana state has already inaugurated IT centers in Warangal, Karimnagar and Khammam, which are already operational and creating local employment with a multiplier effect to the local economy.

IT towers at Mahabubnagar, Siddipet, Nizamabad and Nalgonda districts are expected to be set up by July 2023 in order to cater to rural growth of IT.
