Chandrababu Naidu ranks himself sixth in file clearance, honours minority welfare minister
During his campaigning for the NDA ahead of the Assembly elections in Delhi, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu claimed on Monday, 3 February that the Union Territory (UT) was a victim of two kinds of pollution — air and political — and that people should avoid them.
“Delhi is a victim of two kinds of pollution: Air pollution, and political pollution. Both should be avoided. Delhi has a major problem with clean air, clean water, and garbage disposal. Development should be the only criteria for your vote,” Naidu said in a press conference.
He claimed that only the BJP could ensure an all-round development of Delhi.
The campaigning for the Delhi election ends on Wednesday. Elections will be held on 5 February and the votes will be counted on 8 February.
Slamming the welfare policies of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Delhi, Naidu said that politicians do not have the right to wealth distribution unless they create wealth.
“Politicians have a right to distribute wealth only if they create wealth. This form of wealth distribution model without wealth creation is unsustainable,” Naidu said.
He also claimed that Delhi has seen a decline in the creation of employment opportunities.
“In the past people used to come to Delhi for employment opportunities. Now they leave Delhi for opportunities. This needs to be reversed. In the last 10 years, Delhi has seen no major infrastructure projects,” he claimed.
Naidu further said that Union government schemes, including AMRUT (Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation), are not being implemented in Delhi.
“I’m seeing politics similar to 1978 (referring to Indira Gandhi). The right company is important. Voting for the BJP can ensure better access to Union government schemes,” Naidu said.
“This is not a political press conference. I’m emphasising the importance of development. This should be the criteria when you cast your vote,” he added.
