Joining YSRCP?

There has been speculation that the cricketer had called on the chief minister to express his desire to join the YSRCP. The chief minister is also understood to have shown interest in him as he is a Kapu, a powerful caste in the state in an electoral sense.

Recently, he tweeted that everyone in the state had trust in Chief Minister Jagan Mohan.

Ambati Rayudu also retweeted the chief minister’s address at a Srikakulam public meeting, further lending strength to the buzz that he has made up his mind to join the YSRCP.

As he has a following among the youth, all political parties are eyeing him. At one stage, there was speculation that he might join the Jana Sena of Pawan Kalyan, also a Kapu, but there were also reports that he might join the TDP.

Even the BRS Andhra Pradesh unit is trying to land him. It remains to be seen where he would finally find his home.

But official sources said that Rayudu called on the chief minister only to share his ideas on improving the sports infrastructure in the state.

The sources said the chief minister listened to his ideas attentively and wished him the best in the ongoing IPL season.

He plays for Baroda in domestic cricket.
