Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah invited his Telangana counterpart K Chandrashekar Rao to visit his state to see for himself the implementation of the five guarantees made to the people before the election.

Addressing an election campaign rally in the Kamareddy Assembly constituency, where TPCC president A Revanth Reddy is locked in an electoral battle with KCR, Siddaramaiah said the Congress would implement the six guarantees made to the voters in Telangana like he has been doing in Karnataka.

Referring to the opposition campaign claims that the Congress was not implementing the guarantees in Karnataka, Siddaramaiah said, “I call upon him (KCR) to visit Karnataka and I will sit with him to show what has been implemented and how much money has been released.”

He also assured the crowd that the Congress would fulfil the six guarantees once it came to power in Telangana.

Confident of Congress win

“I want to say that the Congress coming to power in Telangana in this election is as certain as the sun rising in the East,” said the Karnataka chief minister.

Siddaramaiah also exuded confidence that Revanth Reddy would defeat KCR in the Kamareddy constituency.

“I believe that the people of Telangana will defeat Chief Minister K Chandrashekar of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) in Telangana and help Revanth Reddy win by a huge margin. He is also contesting from Kodangal, and the people should make him victorious in the 30 November Assembly polls,” he said.

The senior Congress leader further alleged that KCR was using ill-gotten money to fund his party’s poll campaign.

“It is the money of sin, it is the money earned through bribery, corruption. He is trying to come to power once again by spending that money in the Assembly elections, but in my opinion, the people of Telangana have decided that he and his party should not win,” said Siddaramaiah.

He also accused the BRS of being hand in glove with the BJP. “The BRS has been supporting all the programmes of the BJP in the state and has fielded weak candidates in places where the BJP is hopeful. The people should reject both parties and pave the way for the Congress’ win,” he said.

Siddaramaiah added that according to the information he had received, Revanth Reddy would win both Kamareddy and Kodangal.

‘PM Modi a liar’

While terming KCR corrupt, the Congress leader attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, terming him a liar.

“Don’t believe in the lies of Narendra Modi and Chandrashekar Rao. The Congress alone has been and will be able to do justice to Dalits, Backward Classes, minorities, and the poor, and give them strength economically and socially,” Siddaramaiah said.

He also claimed that development had shrunk during KCR’s two terms, and the people were angry and waiting for 30 November to defeat him.

The Karnataka chief minister said the BJP had no presence in Telangana, and it would not win more than three to four seats.

“The BJP is pinning its hopes on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, but I want to say that despite Modi coming a hundred times to Telangana, the BJP can’t win. BJP candidates will lose their deposits in several parts. I’m saying this because Modi, during the election in our state (Karnataka), had come 48 times, taken out roadshows, and addressed rallies. Still, the Congress candidates won by a huge margin wherever he had gone,” he said.

“Narendra Modi lies wherever he goes. In my political life, there was never a prime minister who lied as much as Modi does. This is my opinion,” he said, adding that Modi would make all efforts to fool the people of Telangana.

The country went bankrupt after Modi became the prime minister, said Siddaramaiah, alleging that India’s debt ballooned to ₹125 lakh crore under his rule. He also accused the prime minister of doing nothing for OBCs, Dalits, minorities, and the poor.

“Modi only does and speaks what Nagpur (RSS headquarters) and 4 percent of people say. He has never thought about the poor and the oppressed,” said Siddaramaiah.

He also sought to know from the prime minister why the RSS never had a Dalit or OBC person as its chief since its inception in 1925.

Telangana minister and BRS working president KT Rama Rao later responded to Siddaramaiah’s comments while talking to reporters.

“Do you think it is easy to defeat KCR, who has a record of winning consecutive elections? It is an election campaign and political leaders from neighbouring states will visit the state to address meetings. But the winner will be declared only on the day of the results,” he said.
