The main complainant in the Cash for MLAs case, BRS legislator Pilot Rohith Reddy, on Sunday, 25 December, said that he would prosecute the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for harassing him on the pretext of money laundering, only because he had exposed the alleged BJP’s conspiracy to dislodge the state government by trying to purchase ruling party legislators.

The Tandur MLA said that on insisting on knowing why he was being called for grilling, the ED officials had told him that it was in connection with the Cash for MLAs case. He said he did not understand the logic because he was not the accused in the case but was the complainant.

Rohith Reddy said that the ED was trying to frame him in the case after obtaining a statement that suits them from Hyderabad hotelier Nanda Kumar, one of the accused in the case, whose custody the ED got from the court for questioning.

“The ED is trying to show me as an accused in the Cash for MLAs case,” he said, speaking to reporters in Hyderabad on Sunday.

‘Not told why I have been summoned’

He said the ED, when it called him to appear before it, did not tell him in what connection he was being summoned.

The ED asked him to appear the following day as well, and when he insisted on knowing the case in which they were seeking statements from him, the ED had told him that it was related to the Cash for MLAs case.

He said he would not yield to the ED regardless of how much pressure they bring on him.

‘”I do not care even if the ED arrests me,” he said.

The BRS lawmaker said that he had faith in the judiciary and that is why he had decided to file a petition in the Telangana High Court on Monday to expose the BJP’s gameplan.

“I will seek justice from the high court why the ED is harassing me though I had nothing to do with the Cash for MLAs scam,” he said.

He, however, said that he would appear before the ED on December 27 as directed
