Andhra Pradesh aims to make new capital, Amaravati, India’s ‘Drone City’

A two-day All India Drone Summit will kick off at CK Convention Centre at Mangalagiri near Vijayawada on Tuesday, 22 October.

Officials have been making elaborate arrangements for the much-anticipated drone show with more than 5,000 buzzing drones to dot the evening sky over Punnami Ghat on Tuesday, 22 October. The event would proclaim that Andhra Pradesh is embracing new technologies to benefit from them.

As the drone show is likely to be a major attraction, curiosity levels have already gone up. The officials have set up huge digital screens at Benz Circle, Ramavarappadu, Kanakadurgamma Varadhi, Bus Station, and Prakasam Barrage in Vijayawada for those who would not be able to make it to Punnami Ghat.

The Vijayawada night sky is expected to light up with different patterns the drones will be making as part of the show.

The show at Punnami Ghat on Krishna River will be from 6  pm to 8 pm on Tuesday. It is expected to be a big draw. The nearby Berm Park will host several cultural programmes. There will also be a laser show, a display of pyrotechnics, and a music band to entertain the visitors.
