The complaint

According to the complaint, Raju was arrested by CID officials in Hyderabad in 2021.

“The officials did not produce him before the local magistrate in Hyderabad nor obtained a transit arrest warrant, instead transferring him directly to the CID office in Guntur,” the complaint said.

In his complaint, Raju made severe allegations, stating that some police officers, along with PV Sunil Kumar IPS, Anjaneyulu IPS and other police subordinates, came to the CID office and “beat him with rubber belts and sticks”.

He alleged that they did not even allow him to take medicines for his heart ailment, despite knowing that he had undergone heart bypass surgery.

Police booked the five accused persons under IPC Sections 120 B, 166, 167, 197, 307, 326, 465 and 506 read with 34. Police invoked the Indian Penal Code (IPC) as the case is three years old.

Raju also claimed that some officers sat on his chest and applied pressure, attempting to kill him, reported ABP News.

Further, he alleged that his phone was taken away, and he was beaten until he revealed the password.

He also claimed that he was later shifted to the Government General Hospital, where Dr Prabhavati issued false medical certificates at the behest of police officials.

Additionally, he also claimed that he was threatened for his life.

Meanwhile, Guntur Police stated that apart from the alleged accusations, the complainant has mentioned several serious, heinous nature charges against many individuals, which need to be investigated by the proper police authority.”
