Haryana MP Kumari Selja wrote on X: “The BJP government has once again struck directly at the pockets of ordinary people.
By raising the price of domestic LPG cylinders by 60 rupees and increasing the price of commercial cylinders by 115 rupees, an additional burden has been placed on the middle class and the common man. The 307-rupee hike in commercial cylinder prices over the past 3 months is proof that the government has no control over inflation. Families already struggling with rising prices, school fees, electricity-water bills, and the inflation of everyday essentials will now be even more distressed by this new shock to cooking gas.
It is clear that BJP policies are weighing heavily on both the kitchen and employment of the common citizen. The government should explain how long the middle class and poor families will have to bear the burden of inflation like this?”

Speaking to the news agency PTI, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi demanding roll back of price hike said, “It is unfortunate that when they were buying oil at lower prices, the benefit was not passed on to the consumers. It was hoarded by the oil companies and the Government of India. Now when we are seeing a crisis like situation, instead of cushioning the problem being faced, they have gone on to increase the price. This shows that the government continues to not listen to the concerns of the people and at the first instance, they have dumped the impact of the war on the consumers. It is shameful, unfortunate, and I would want them to immediately role this back..”

However, speaking on the price rise, BJP Chandini Chowk MP Praveen Khandelwal said, “The increase in the price is very nominal according to the price inflation index… The prices of energy are increasing in the entire world… It is the opposition’s job to create noise… ”
