A case of alleged matrimonial fraud has come to light in Andhra Pradesh’s Dr BR Ambedkar Konaseema district, where a 24-year-old woman is accused of marrying multiple men over the past two years and extorting substantial sums of money from them.

According to the district Superintendent of Police, at least 12 men have fallen victim to the alleged scam, with several now facing legal trouble after she reportedly filed cases against them.

The woman, reportedly from Ramachandrapuram, is said to have assumed different identities to lure men – some of whom held high-profile jobs, were going through marital trouble, or had applied for divorce – by posing as a prospective bride.

After marrying them, she allegedly demanded large sums of money, gold, or property, often citing family or personal emergencies, before disappearing.

Police sources described the case as a calculated operation aimed at exploiting men for financial gain.

Several victims have approached the grievance cell of the district Superintendent of Police, claiming that the woman deceived them and extorted money.

Police are now examining the complaints filed by the men and verifying the cases she has filed against them, probing all angles, including breach of trust, cheating, and extortion.
