Kerala Industries Minister P Rajeev announced that a 189-metre, 49-storey ‘Gold Tower’ by Alukkas is under construction in Thrissur, set to become the tallest building in the state.
The ₹400-crore project was proposed during the Invest Kerala Global Summit 2025, alongside a ₹1,000-crore hospital plan, both submitted as Expressions of Interest (EoIs) and to be developed in phases.
Currently, the tallest building in Kerala is the 152-metre Lulu Twin Tower in Kochi, which also holds the title of South India’s tallest IT tower.
The global summit, held in February by KSIDC, saw participation from 3,000 delegates across 26 countries. A total of 374 EoIs worth ₹1.53 lakh crore were submitted, including ₹8,500 crore in IT sector proposals, potentially generating 60,000 jobs.
Major global interest came from countries like Germany, UAE, Norway and Vietnam.
