TGPWU urges GHMC to extend gated community access to gig workers

Following the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation’s directive allowing postmen unhindered access to gated communities, the Telangana Gig and Platform Workers’ Union (TGPWU) has urged similar treatment for gig workers.

TGPWU President Shaik Salauddin thanked GHMC officials for the move, while calling on them to extend the same courtesy to food delivery agents, couriers, and e-commerce workers, who often face denial of entry, restrictions on using lifts, and a lack of parking.

The union has appealed for fair treatment, including access to lifts and safe parking, to ensure dignity and smoother service delivery for Hyderabad’s growing gig workforce.
